Walking Through

Pregancy & Infant Loss

on the El Camino de Santiago, May 2026

A Journey Through Grief

In the profound shadow of losing a child - whether that be via miscarriage, abortion, still birth or infant death - the path to healing often requires two things:

Solitude for reflection and Community for support.

If you have experience any form of pregancy or infant loss, we invite you to join a small group of bereaved parents to walk together along the El Camino de Santiago in a shared journey of remembrance and renewal.

Who is this for?

Whether your loss was a month ago, a year ago, 5 years ago or more - if you are in grief and want to find a way through, this walk is an opporunity for deep healing. Step by step, in the company of others with a similar experience, and with a professional grief support.

Why the El Camino?

This ancient trail through northern Spain has drawn pilgrims for centuries, offering a space where physical steps mirror inner progress, helping to process the deep emotions of grief.

Walking has been shown to aid bereavement by improving mental health, reducing feelings of isolation, and allowing thoughts and emotions to flow freely without the pressure to "fix" them.

The Camino de Santiago, in particular, transforms grief through its rhythmic pace and scenic beauty, teaching surrender to uncertainty and turning personal sacrifice into meaningful growth.

As you traverse costal paths, rolling hills and quaint villages, the journey encourages honoring lost loved ones while fostering connections with others who understand your pain.

If this resonates with your experience, we welcome you to reach out for more details and take the first step toward healing.

The Program

Our professional grief counsellor Stacy Gunter has created a special program to assit you with moving through your grief.

You will engage in guided dialogues and supportive practices tailored to grief processing. This intimate setting ensures personalized care, helping each participant navigate their unique path.

With each step there is the opporunity to reflect on your loss and it's meaning within your life and the lives of your family and friends.

This is your Camino, your way to healing.

The Steps

We have two journeys available.

The 15-day journey starts with our first step in the costal town of Tapia de Casariego. From here we will enjoy a brief costal walk before turning inland, enjoying the forests and rolling hills on our 207km (128mi) walk to Santiago de Compostela.

The 8-day journey starts with the fist step in the town of Baamonde, joining the 15-day group and becoming one team for the the last 100km (62mi) into Santiago de Compostela.

Are you ready to walk the Camino?
